The Cotswolds
The Cotwolds is a large area of gentle hillsides and sleepy, typically English villages in the west of England about the same size as greater Tokyo. It contains famous cities such as Bath as well as beautiful towns such as Cheltenham and of course hundreds of delightful villages. The cotswolds is famous for its use of the honey-coloured limestone used in all its building work which brings a sense of togetherness to the look of the Cotswolds. It is an area famous for its wool trade with the picturesque image of woolly sheep on a hill being a significant image of the Cotwolds throughout time. The riches made from the high quality wool often lead to the building of some fine houses and beautiful churches which are scattered throughout this area of Gloucestershire. When it comes to finding things to see and do there is plenty to choose from:
Cotswold Perfumery | Mill Dene Garden | The Model Village |
Blenheim Palace | Roman Baths | Gordon Russell Design Museum |
Hidcote Manor Garden | Painswick Rococo Garden | Matara Garden of Well being |
As well as these fantastic attractions there is plenty for you to see and explore in the Cotswolds whether you fancy walking, cycling, or horse riding. In an area with such rich history and natural beauty it is no wonder that getting out and about may be at the top of your agenda so why not take a stroll along one of the fantastic walks, such as the Romantic road which are tours that demonstrate the romantic side of the Cotswolds.
